On our way to the Kiyomizu temple, we passed young girls training as Maiko, or apprentice Geisha, dressed in flamboyant textiles, hair styles and makeup.

Note how these obi are tied in the back, in a long flowing style.

At the end of our last day together, we dined on a beautifully presented feast. I lost count of how many dishes were served, each arranged in an artistic manner. It was a fitting end to a wonderful day.
